1. United States Golf Association, conduct of Women’s Golf, and local rules set forth by the golf professional shall govern handicaps and conduct of play.
2. Regular 18-hole play shall be each Wednesday morning, with starting times adjusted seasonally.
3. For all WLGA play (Tournaments, Ace Days, Play Days), all players are limited to a maximum handicap of 36.
4. To compete on Ace Days and in Tournaments, each player must have a GHIN handicap. All balls must be "holed out" with all strokes recorded as gross score.
5. Scores are to be entered in Golf Genius in real time by one member of a playing group, and one person in the group should keep a paper scorecard for verification at the end of each 9 holes. Cards are to be turned in to the Pro Shop desk, and a staff person will check scores against Golf Genius and determine that day's winners.Golf Genius will automatically enter scores into the GHIN system for handicap calculation.
6. In case of ties, the winner will be determined by a score card playoff, starting with the back nine, last nine holes. If still tied, last six holes. If still tied, last three holes. If still tied, hole #18.
7. New LGA members who do not have an established GHIN Handicap should request a GHIN number from the pro shop, download the USGA GHIN mobile app and start recording all scores/rounds. Members without a handicap are welcome to play on Play Days, and will have a 36 handicap for scoring purposes. Members must have an established handicap to compete on Ace Days and in Tournaments.
8. A member must participate in at least 10 LGA-sponsored events during the year to be eligible for any of the Year-End Awards.
9. Changes to the Standing Rules will be made only after an affirmative vote by the majority of the Association members attending a regularly scheduled meeting or via an online ballot.
Net Double Bogey Maximum On Play Days, all players are required to discontinue playing a hole when they reach their maximum score, unless the competition requires that they continue and hole out the ball. Based on a player's established GHIN course handicap, the maximum score is net double bogey calculated as par + 2 strokes + any handicap strokes (pops) a player receives on that hole. NOTE: On Ace Days and in Tournaments, players must hole out each ball and record the gross score.
Forced Carries over Water. Holes 1, 4, 8, 10, and 18 require shots over water hazards of 50 yards or more. If a ball is lost or unplayable in pond or penalty area marked with red stakes on these holes, player may rehit from the position of the previous shot or proceed to the established "drop zone" on the hole; both options incur 1 penalty stroke.
Out-of-Bounds/Lost Ball (including #17 road). USGA rule says to replay the ball from the location it was last hit, with 1 penalty stroke. LGA Option (suggested by the USGA to improve pace of play): Drop a ball behind the point that ball went OOB, taking a 2-stroke penalty. Reminder: Your second ball is now your ball in play, even if first ball declared lost, is found.
Tree Roots, Ant Beds & Rocks. Players can take nearest point of relief without penalty from roots, ants, and rocks. If any doubt on your relief, ask. (For other situations where player deems ball unplayable, use one of the 3 USGA options for Unplayable Ball relief with 1 penalty stroke.)
Winter Rules/Preferred Lies. Per USGA, you must play the ball down at all times; do not move ball to improve your lie unless it lies within area marked ground under repair. Exception: If weather has caused poor fairway conditions such as muddy areas, it will be announced prior to play, in which case you may lift, clean and place ball at the nearest point of relief, no closer to the pin, without penalty.
When in Doubt - If you have any doubt as to rules or procedures while playing, and other playing partners can’t determine the call, play your first ball, and play a second ball into the hole, record both scores with notation for hole. At completion of the round, to determine rule, discuss with Pro for any corrections to scorecard.
