ARTICLE I           THE ASSOCIATION

The scope of the Westlake Ladies Golf Association (WLGA) is the organization of weekly competitive golf matches and tournaments for the ladies of Westlake Country Club (WCC). The purpose is to foster friendships, good sportsmanship, and enhanced enjoyment of the game.

ARTICLE II         MANAGEMENT OF THE ASSOCIATION

A four-person Operating Committee (OC) will share responsibilities for managing the business of the Association. Members of the OC shall be elected for two-year terms, with two of the four terms expiring at the end of each year. OC members may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. At the fall meeting each year, there will be a call from the floor for volunteers or nominations to fill expiring positions. An online ballot will be sent to the full Association membership to elect new OC members whose terms will begin January 1.

 Two OC members shall be authorized signatories on the Westlake LGA bank account, and will share responsibility for budgeting, financial tracking, financial reporting, and maintaining a current roster of members. An OC member will be assigned to take minutes at each meeting of the association for distribution to the membership and subsequent posting to the website.

Other responsibilities for managing the Association will be handled by OC members or assigned to other individuals or committees. These include, but are not limited to:

·      Working with the pro shop to organize and manage Play Days

·      Working with the pro shop to organize and manage Ace Days and Tournaments

·      Maintaining the website www.westlakelga.com

·      Sending out communications to the membership via the Association’s Gmail account westlakeaustinlga@gmail.com

·      New member recruitment and cultivation

·      Year-end awards

·      Social events

All records of the Association will be maintained using Google Docs and Apps associated with the westlakeaustinlga@gmail.com account. These include Google Drive, Google Photos, Google Calendar, Contacts, and Gmail. All Operating Committee members will have password access to the Google account. 

ARTICLE III        MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the WLGA is open to all lady golf members of Westlake Country Club, as well as former members of the LGA regardless of membership status at Westlake Country Club. Association dues are $50 per year, or $30 per year for those joining after June 30th.

ARTICLE IV – MEETINGS

In-person meetings of the Association will be held a minimum of three times each year. Meeting dates for each year shall be posted on the website’s CALENDAR page. Additional meetings may be called and held virtually as needed. A quorum of ten members or one-fifth of the members, whichever is less, is required to transact business at a meeting. In the absence of a quorum, an online ballot will be sent to the full membership after the meeting for business that requires a vote.

ARTICLE V – AMENDMENTS

Amendments to the Constitution may be made upon an affirmative two-thirds vote of the Association members present at a meeting in which there is a quorum, or alternately by online ballot.
